You will need to decide if you want to utilize health insurance benefits to pay for therapy. If so, please contact your insurance company to ask about mental health benefits and to learn about your deductible and co-payment responsibilities. I am currently a provider in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare/Optum, Medica, Midlands Choice, Cigna, Tricare, and Aetna. There are many benefits to paying out of pocket for therapy, so you may want to consider paying privately. If you have questions about how to pay for therapy, please call me.
During our first session, we will spend about an hour together so that I can understand your concerns, learn more about your history, identify goals, and suggest a plan for treatment.
I recognize that each person is an individual and people have different needs. Most people find it most helpful to meet with a therapist once a week for one hour for some time ranging from a few months to several years, but this varies from person to person and will be dependent on the needs of each individual.
After a few sessions we will identify goals and objectives for therapy. We will discuss some of interventions which we will use to accomplish your goals. Throughout therapy we will review these goals and may adjust them. I encourage all of my clients to evaluate their experience in therapy as it progresses and to determine whether their needs are being met.
