Online counseling is sometimes called e-therapy, teletherapy, telepsychology, telehealth or telemedicine. Online counseling means more accessible therapy choices for clients. Clients can now securely receive counseling online using secure, and enhanced video service.
How it Works – Online counseling works just like face-to-face therapy in that it can be effective for obtaining information and feedback, and for making changes in your life. Instead of driving to an office you will receive a link in your email directing you to a "virtual office." You will sign in which will let me know that you arrived and allow you access to my "virtual waiting room." Once I am ready I will open video conferencing with you and our session will begin.
Payment– More and more insurance companies are reimbursing for online counseling check with your insurance provider for specific coverage details. Paying out-of-pocket (private pay) for counseling is another option. See below for private pay cost per session. Accepted methods of payment include all major credit cards, debit card, and health savings account. Payment is due at the time of session.
$75 for a 30 minute session
$120 for a 50 minute session (typical session length)
$150 for a 60 minute session
Benefits of Online Counseling:
Privacy: There is no chance of running into anyone that you know.
Confidentiality: Maintaining confidentiality is my main concern. I offer video platforms that provide protection of your health information. Telephone and emails are also confidential.
Effective: There are more studies that show online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face therapy and in some cases more effective. One reason might be that you are in your own comfortable environment.
Convenience: There are no waiting rooms, traveling to an office or sitting in traffic.
Financial benefits: With no need to go to an office, you save on time, travel, wear and tear on your car, fuel, no buses or trains, and childcare expenses.
